Pumpkin Carving

Wednesday, October 28th, 2026 from 8:00am to 2:00pm

About

Get into the fall spirit and help light up the trail for our Family Mystery Night Hike! Volunteers will carve nature-themed designs into pumpkins that will be displayed along the trail during the event.

When: Wednesday, October 28 | One-hour carving sessions

Volunteer Role Includes:

  • Carving a nature-themed pumpkin on-site to help decorate the trail

  • Using provided pumpkins, nature-themed stencils, carving tools, and other supplies

  • Bringing your own native animal or wildlife design if you’re a creative pumpkin-carving master and want to try something different!

All supplies and support are provided, and no prior pumpkin-carving experience is needed. Whether you’re following one of our stencils or creating your own wildlife-inspired design, your pumpkin will help make the Family Mystery Night Hike festive, fun, and just a little spooky.

Ages 12+. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Please note: These pumpkins will be used to decorate our nature trail for the Family Mystery Night Hike. You may come back after the event to pick up your pumpkin if you would like to keep it, but it will have been outside in the elements and around wildlife. Otherwise, we’ll leave the pumpkins out for wildlife to enjoy :)
