Vita is supported by the assistance and dedication of volunteers. People that are committed to making a difference in their communities and providing an invaluable service to working San Antonio area families. VITA provides  FREE tax preparations services with over 20 sites throughout the city and with help of volunteers completed more than 37,000 tax returns. Volunteers also helped to bring in over $65 million in refunds back to working San Antonio families. VITA offers flexible training classes and great incentives throughout the tax season. Be a difference maker in your community, volunteer you time with VITA. 

FREE Integrated Tax Return Preparation Training 

  • Basic to advanced tax returns
  • Convenient training times for working people 
  • "Link & Learn" online certification option
  • Test-out (for returning volunteers) 

Volunteer Incentives
  • Referral bonus for every THREE people you RECRUIT, who attend a TRAINING (in class or online), & who VOLUNTEER at a VITA site will receive an incentive (25$ git card) 
  • Perks throughout the 13-week tax season 
  • Volunteer appreciation dinner
  • Lean tax law and become IRS certified
VITA Volunteer Opportunities Available 
  • Tax Preparer- Provide FREE basic tax preparations for eligible taxpayers
  • Greeter/Intake Specialist - Provide support to the clients and the volunteers 
  • Volunteer trainer and volunteer mentor (returning volunteers only) 

Training
  • 20 hour training session over 2 Saturdays. FREE lunch from 8:00am-6:00pm
  • 20 hour training session over 5 consecutive nights. Free dinner from 5:30pm - 9:30pm
