Trail Steward

Open Timeslots

About

If you love to walk along our trails at the Cibolo Nature Center & Farm, why not become a trail steward? These volunteers hike the trails, conduct basic maintenance (like pick up litter or clear waterways), and report serious issues to CNC&F staff.  Our trails are open every day from 8:00am to Dusk, even on holidays, therefore this option is always available.
Trail 1: Marsh Trail
Trail 2: Prairie Loop
Trail 3: Creek Trail
Trail 4: Woodland Trail
Walk one, or the entire route (3 miles total).

Great for any age!  Children under 13 should be accompanied by an adult volunteer
Volunteers are welcome to bring their own supplies (trash bags, litter grabbers) and wear appropriate clothing if working in the creek (tall, waterproof boots).
Trash bags and litter grabbers are also available in the Visitor's Center (open from 9am to 5pm Monday-Friday; Saturday 9am to 2pm).

If you want to schedule a large group (10 or more) and need supplies or if you would like a CNC&F staff member to give you a park overview please contact volunteer@cibolo.org.

Hello! I’m currently here for my volunteer shift 3-7:30! I’m at the visitor center to grab some trash bags and start my shift and it says the visiter center is closed :/. I’m not sure if I’m supposed to talk to someone or not to make sure I get my hours/credits too.

Thank you!

I plan to come in this Saturday with my daughter at 10:30 AM. Ariel, will you be around to sign my daughter's log validating her volunteer hours?

Yes ma'am, I'll be here! If ever I'm not, the staff member on site in the visitor center is also able to verify.

Thank you!!

I would like to sign up for the evening this week, however the office will be closed once I get there. Is there a check in procedure or someone I should contact prior or just show up with my bags and begin? :)

Hi Amanda! Yes, you can just hop right in! When you get the email from Givepulse to confirm your shift, please note in the reflections section which trails you worked on and if you saw any bigger issues (downed limbs, parts of the trails that are washed out, stuff like that) so staff can address them. Thank you!!

I have registered for June 19th. Do I just go to HQ and begin from there on that day? Cheers :)

Yep! Just stop by our visitor center to pick up trash bags, picker upers, and a map! You may want to bring a water bottle to fill from our cooler and a hat. Thank you!
