NATIONAL CAPITAL AREA CHAPTER

About

For Trinity University's 150th Anniversary Weekend, the Trinity University National Capital Area Chapter (Trinity NCA) invites you for service and socializing on February 2.

The Humane Rescue Alliance (HRA) depends on thousands of volunteers each year to help them provide quality care to animals in need. Trinity NCA has partnered with HRA's Cat Neighborhood Partnership Program (CatNiPP) this winter to build warm shelters – and we need your help!

We invite everyone to come out and learn how to construct simple, warm shelters for community cats in DC.

TRANSPORTATION: HRA is located approximately 1 mile north of Fort Totten Metro, which is served by a few bus routes, or ridesharing. There is also parking at HRA and on Oglethorpe Street.

Please meet promptly at 9:00 a.m. in the main shelter lobby. We will walk to the Mural Room for the event together.

Attire: Jeans and closed-toed shoes are required

RSVP kindly requested by January 25th so that we can confirm our group headcount with the shelter

While the HRA will have some supplies available to our group, such as the straw and duct tape required to build the shelters, we do ask and encourage registered alumni to bring one or two durable storage bins to use as the base for their shelters (like this Sterilite storage bin at Target).

After building the shelters, alumni are invited to visit Kitty City to see adoptable cats or walk through the dog area of the shelter. To view adoptable animals, please visit www.humanerescuealliance.org/adopt.

Alumni are also welcome to share memories of their time at Trinity at brunch following the project at HRA. Please RSVP if you would be interested in meeting at Hellbender Brewery for their Smoke and Ember BBQ Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
