About the Organization
The Salvation Army has been serving the San Antonio community since 1889, providing emergency shelter and transitional housing for men, women and families experiencing homelessness. The Salvation Army also provides assistance in crisis situations in order to prevent homelessness. Working to develop today's youth, The Salvation Army offers the Child Development Center for infants through school-aged children as well as the Boys and Girls Club for children ages 6-18.
Volunteers will work in the food pantry, making Valentine gift bags for people staying in the shelter. Some outdoor work is possible. Comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes. Bring layer for outdoors in case you need it.
