About the Organization

The mission of Mitchell Lake Audubon Center is to connect people to nature through conservation and community education focused on birds and their habitats.

From its inception in 2004, Mitchell Lake Audubon Center welcomes visitors to its refuge and invites them to participate in nature education programs. Join the thousands of families, school children, and visitors from all over San Antonio and the globe in discovering this wild and natural place. Located 20 minutes from downtown San Antonio, you will think you entered a different world. Dedicated to connecting people to nature through birds and their habitats, Mitchell Lake offers a variety of programming- something for everyone in the family.
